In the year 2000, Ziad became part of the FPM committee in charge of establishing political contacts, national and international. In that capacity, he represented the FPM at the Bristol Meeting and in bi-lateral talks with various parties. In that same year, he made a visit to Australia to represent General Aoun in meetings with Australian officials and political parties, as well as with the Lebanese diaspora.
